Construction waste can slow down a jobsite quickly. A full bin blocks access. Mixed materials create disposal problems. An overloaded container can delay pickup.
Use this Angus contractor waste checklist to keep every trade moving. It covers booking, delivery, loading, and disposal for an efficient Angus construction bin rental workflow.
1. Book the right bin before work starts
Start with the waste, not just the project size.
List the materials each trade will remove:
Demolition debris
Lumber and framing offcuts
Drywall and insulation
Roofing shingles
Flooring and tile
Soil, concrete, or asphalt
Packaging and household waste
Brush and yard debris
Then choose the bin and pricing option that match the load.
For full service details, review our Services & Pricing options before booking.
July 2026 starting rates
These are starting rates before the 5% fuel surcharge and H.S.T. Final pricing varies by postal code and project details.
Know the 8-yard restriction
The 8-yard bin is specialty-only. Use it for:
Clean soil
Concrete
Asphalt
⚠️ Do not use the 8-yard bin for mixed construction waste, wood, drywall, shingles, household garbage, or yard waste.
Do not combine heavy materials with general debris. If you have a mixed load, contact Tor Bin Rental before booking so you can choose the correct bin and avoid sorting issues.
Regular Rate vs. All-In Rate
Choose the Regular Rate if your load is relatively light and you can monitor its weight.
It includes:
Delivery
Pickup
A 7-day rental
Up to 1 metric tonne of disposal
Additional weight is charged at $130 per metric tonne.
Choose the All-In Rate if you want predictable budgeting or expect a heavy load. It includes delivery, pickup, a 7-day rental, and unlimited disposal with no weight-based overage charge.
If your waste includes large amounts of masonry, tile, soil, concrete, or asphalt, then contact us before choosing the Regular Rate.
2. Assign one person to manage waste
Every Angus jobsite should have a waste lead. This can be the site supervisor, foreperson, or project manager.
Their responsibilities should include:
Confirming the bin location
Explaining acceptable materials to each trade
Checking that the bin is not overloaded
Keeping access clear for pickup
Monitoring contamination
Requesting an early pickup or extension
Contacting Tor Bin Rental about questionable materials
Post simple sorting instructions near the bin. Do not rely on every subcontractor knowing the disposal rules.
A five-minute toolbox talk at the start of the project can prevent a costly mistake later.
3. Prepare the Angus delivery area
Tor Bin Rental provides driveway-safe bins with protective placement to help prevent damage to asphalt, concrete, interlock, and other surfaces.

Before delivery, complete this site checklist:
Clear vehicles from the delivery route.
Remove equipment, pallets, and loose materials.
Keep the placement area level and accessible.
Identify low branches and overhead wires.
Keep temporary fencing and gates open if required.
Confirm the truck can turn and back into position.
Keep pedestrians and workers away from the truck during placement.
Tell us about narrow entrances, soft ground, slopes, or unusual access conditions.
Place the bin close enough for efficient loading, but not where it blocks:
Emergency access
Material deliveries
Excavators and loaders
Scaffolding
Garage doors
Site trailers
Worker walkways
For local delivery information, review the Angus service area page.
Same-day or next-day delivery may be available depending on your postal code, bin size, routing, and current availability.
4. Use trade-by-trade loading rules
Different trades create different waste. Keep the material streams clear from the beginning.
Demolition crews
Demolition waste often includes wood, drywall, insulation, cabinets, flooring, and mixed debris.
Use a 10-yard bin for a smaller demolition project.
Use a 14-yard bin for a moderate renovation.
Use a 20-yard bin for a larger teardown or multi-room project.
Remove hazardous materials before loading.
Keep concrete, asphalt, and soil separate from general debris.
Break down bulky items where practical to use the space efficiently.
Do not bury prohibited items under lighter waste.
Framing and carpentry crews
Wood waste fills a bin quickly when offcuts are left long.
Cut large offcuts down where practical.
Place lumber flat instead of standing it upright.
Keep nails and sharp ends pointed down.
Separate reusable lumber before loading.
Do not allow boards to protrude over the sides.
Keep wood separate from clean fill materials.
⚠️ All waste must remain below the top rim. Protruding lumber can make the load unsafe for transport.
Drywall and insulation crews
Drywall is bulky and can create dust throughout the site.
Keep drywall in the general construction waste bin unless a separate disposal arrangement has been confirmed.
Load panels flat or stack them tightly.
Do not mix drywall with the specialty 8-yard clean fill bin.
Keep insulation contained so it does not blow around the jobsite.
Sweep up loose pieces at the end of each shift.
Roofing crews
Roofing waste is heavy and dense.
Choose the bin size based on the roof area and tear-off volume.
Keep shingles out of the 8-yard specialty bin.
Load shingles evenly across the floor.
Do not create one heavy pile on one side.
Keep underlayment and packaging controlled.
Schedule pickup before the bin becomes difficult to access.
If you are unsure whether your roofing materials fit the selected bin, contact us before delivery.
Flooring, masonry, and tile crews
Tile, brick, block, and masonry can exceed weight limits quickly.
Do not assume a large bin can safely hold unlimited heavy material.
Keep clean concrete and asphalt separate when using the 8-yard specialty bin.
Do not mix soil or concrete with wood, drywall, garbage, or plastic.
Spread heavy material evenly.
Avoid dropping heavy pieces from a height.
Contact Tor Bin Rental before loading a large quantity of tile or masonry.
Excavation and landscaping crews
The 8-yard bin is suitable only for clean soil, concrete, or asphalt.
It is not suitable for a mixed landscaping load.
Keep these materials separate:
Soil
Sod
Roots
Brush
Branches
Rocks
Concrete
Asphalt
General garbage
If the load is only clean soil, concrete, or asphalt, then ask about the specialty 8-yard bin.
If the load includes roots, branches, sod, wood, or garbage, then use a different bin and confirm the material category first.
Electrical, plumbing, and mechanical trades
Some materials require special handling and should never be placed in a regular construction bin.
⚠️ Keep these items out unless specifically approved:
Paint and solvents
Oil and fuel
Chemicals
Batteries
Propane tanks
Tires
Asbestos-containing materials
Pressurized containers
Liquid waste
When in doubt, stop and ask before loading. Email info@torbinrental.ca or call 705-481-7604.
5. Complete a daily bin inspection
A quick inspection prevents delays and extra cleanup.
At the end of each workday, check:
Is the bin below the top rim?
Is waste evenly distributed?
Are sharp objects pointing downward?
Are any materials hanging over the sides?
Has wind blown debris around the site?
Has another trade placed prohibited material inside?
Is the truck access route still open?
Is the bin close to full?
Never climb on the bin walls or stand on unstable waste. Use proper personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety boots, eye protection, and other equipment required for the work.
6. Schedule pickup before the bin becomes a bottleneck
A full bin can stop demolition, deliveries, and cleanup.
Tor Bin Rental offers flexible rental terms, including:
3-day rentals
7-day rentals
Monthly rentals
Early pickup
Rental extensions when available
Book pickup as soon as the bin is ready. If your schedule changes, request an extension instead of allowing the bin to sit in an active loading zone.
The Tor Bin Rental FAQ answers common questions about pickup, weight, driveway protection, access, and prohibited items.
