A severe storm can turn an Everett property into a cleanup zone within minutes.
Branches block the driveway. Tree limbs cover the lawn. Fences, sheds, shingles, and outdoor furniture may be damaged. Wet debris becomes heavier by the hour.
You need a safe, organized disposal plan.
This guide walks you through storm cleanup in the right order: stay safe, sort the debris, choose the right bin, load it properly, and arrange fast pickup.
Tor Bin Rental provides driveway-safe bin rentals throughout Everett, Alliston, Lisle, Angus, and surrounding communities.
Step 1: Make the property safe before cleanup
Do not start by dragging branches into a pile. Start with a safety check.
⚠️ Stay away from:
Downed power lines
Trees resting on homes, vehicles, or utility wires
Hanging branches that may fall
Flooded areas near electrical equipment
Unstable sheds, decks, fences, or roof structures
Nails, broken glass, and sharp metal hidden under debris
If a tree is leaning toward your home or a branch is tangled with a power line, call a qualified professional. Do not attempt to cut it yourself.
Before moving anything:
Take photos and videos for insurance records.
Photograph damage to roofs, siding, fences, sheds, decks, and vehicles.
Save cleanup receipts and bin rental records.
Keep children and pets away from unstable debris.
Wait until the area is dry and safe enough to enter.
Once the property is safe, create separate debris piles.
Step 2: Sort storm debris into the right category
Sorting first helps you avoid rejected materials and unnecessary disposal charges.
Create three main piles:
1. Clean brush and yard waste
This pile can include:
Fallen branches
Tree limbs
Brush
Shrubs and hedge trimmings
Leaves
Grass clippings
Garden waste
Clean, untreated wood
Keep this material free of garbage, plastic bags, soil, rocks, and construction debris.
2. Household and construction waste
Use this category for mixed property damage and renovation debris, including:
Broken outdoor furniture
Damaged fencing
Painted or pressure-treated lumber
Drywall
Insulation
Flooring
Cabinets
Roofing materials
Household junk
Furniture
Shed demolition debris
Mixed storm and renovation waste
If your storm cleanup includes both brush and household debris, do not automatically place everything in a Brush bin. Contact Tor Bin Rental before loading.
3. Clean fill and heavy materials
Keep these materials separate:
Clean soil
Concrete
Asphalt
Clean excavation material
Broken patio or walkway material
Heavy materials require a specialty bin. They should not be mixed with brush or household waste.
Step 3: Choose the right Everett bin
Use this simple if/then guide:
If your load is mostly branches, leaves, shrubs, and clean woody debris, then choose a Brush & Yard Waste bin.
If your load includes furniture, fencing, drywall, shingles, garbage, or mixed property debris, then choose a Household & Construction Waste bin.
If your load is mostly soil, concrete, or asphalt, then choose the 8-yard specialty bin.
If you are removing asphalt shingles from a roof, then choose the Shingle category.
If your load contains more than one material category, then contact us before booking or loading.

July 2026 bin sizes and starting prices
The following starting rates apply to eligible Household & Construction Waste rentals.
What the Regular Rate includes
The Regular Rate includes:
7-day rental
Delivery
Pickup
Up to 1 metric tonne of disposal
Additional weight at $130 per metric tonne
What the All-In Rate means
The All-In Rate is available for eligible Household & Construction Waste rentals and includes unlimited disposal for the applicable category.
It can be useful when you are unsure how heavy your storm debris will be.
All prices are starting rates. Your final rate may vary by postal code and availability. A 5% fuel surcharge and H.S.T. apply.
Review the exact rate for your Everett address on the Services & Pricing page or during online booking.
Important: the 8-yard bin is specialty-only
The 8-yard bin measures 7' wide × 14' long × 2' high.
It is designed only for:
Clean soil
Concrete
Asphalt
⚠️ The 8-yard bin is not for household waste, construction waste, brush, leaves, shingles, furniture, drywall, or mixed debris.
Do not use it for general storm cleanup. Soil and concrete are extremely heavy, so keeping them in a smaller specialty bin helps manage loading and transportation safely.
Clean concrete should not contain rebar unless confirmed in advance.
Brush, shingles, and clean-fill rules
Brush and yard waste
Choose a Brush bin when your load contains clean organic yard debris.
Accepted materials generally include:
Branches
Tree limbs
Brush
Leaves
Grass
Shrubs
Garden waste
Clean untreated wood
Do not place these items in the Brush bin:
Household garbage
Plastic bags
Soil or sod
Rocks
Concrete or asphalt
Drywall
Shingles
Painted or treated lumber
Furniture
Fencing with mixed materials
Hazardous waste
For Brush & Yard Waste, listed starting guidance is approximately $200 plus $110 per metric tonne, but category pricing can vary by postal code, material, and availability. Confirm the current Everett rate online before booking.
Asphalt shingles
Use the Shingle category for asphalt shingles from a roof replacement or repair.
A 10-yard bin measuring 7' × 11' × 3.5' is often a practical choice for smaller to medium roofing jobs.
Keep shingles separate from:
Household garbage
Brush
Soil
Concrete
Asphalt pavement
Hazardous materials
Appliances and electronics
Shingle pricing is material-specific and may differ from Household & Construction pricing. Enter your Everett postal code during booking to view the available rate.
Clean fill
Book the specialty 8-yard bin for clean soil, concrete, or asphalt.
Do not mix clean fill with:
Brush
Garbage
Drywall
Shingles
Insulation
Treated lumber
Plastic
Household debris
If stormwater washed out a garden bed or damaged a walkway, separate the heavy material before ordering.

Step 4: Prepare the delivery area
Tor Bin Rental uses driveway-safe bins and protective boards to help reduce the risk of damage to asphalt, concrete, and other property surfaces.
Before delivery:
Move vehicles out of the driveway.
Remove trailers, boats, and outdoor furniture.
Clear low branches near the truck path.
Keep the placement area accessible.
Tell us about narrow driveways, slopes, soft ground, or overhead wires.
Keep children and pets away during delivery.
Same-day or next-day delivery may be available in Everett, depending on the schedule and your postal code.

Step 5: Load the bin safely
Load storm debris in layers.
Place larger branches and bulky debris on the bottom.
Add smaller brush and yard waste around the larger pieces.
Fill open spaces with leaves and smaller material.
Distribute the weight evenly.
Keep the load level with the top of the bin.
⚠️ DO NOT OVERFILL THE BIN.
Branches must not stick out over the sides. Do not build an unstable pile above the rim. An overloaded bin may not be safe to transport.
Keep these prohibited materials out of every bin:
Paint
Oil
Chemicals
Batteries
Asbestos
Propane tanks
Tires
Electronics
Appliances
When you are finished, request early pickup or extend the rental if cleanup takes longer than expected.
Flexible rental terms include 3-day, 7-day, and monthly options, depending on availability.
