Choosing the wrong pricing model can turn a budget-friendly project into an expensive headache. At Tor Bin Rental, we believe in total transparency. That is why we offer two distinct ways to pay for your waste disposal: Regular Rates and All-In Rates.
Understanding the $130/Tonne Rule is the key to saving money. If you underestimate the weight of your debris, you could be hit with unexpected overage charges. If you overestimate, you might pay for a premium service you don't actually need.
This guide breaks down the math so you can book with confidence.
π οΈ Decoding the Two Rate Options
Before you book your bin online, you need to know what you are paying for. Here is the breakdown for Household & Construction waste.
1. The Regular Rate (Pay-As-You-Go)
This is our entry-level pricing. It is ideal for bulky but light items.
Whatβs Included: 7-day rental, professional delivery, and prompt pickup.
Weight Allowance: Includes the first 1 metric tonne (1,000kg) of waste.
The Catch: If your load exceeds 1 tonne, you are billed at $130 per additional tonne.
2. The All-In Rate (Unlimited Disposal)
This is our "worry-free" option. You pay one flat fee, and we handle the disposal costs regardless of the weight.
Whatβs Included: 7-day rental, delivery, pickup, and unlimited weight disposal.
The Benefit: No surprise invoices after the bin is weighed at the facility.

π Choosing Your Bin Size and Rate
The rate you choose often depends on the bin size and the specific debris you are tossing. Below are the current rates (starting at, subject to postal code and H.S.T).
Household & Construction Waste Pricing
β οΈ IMPORTANT: A 5% fuel surcharge applies to all rentals.
The Specialty Disposal Rule (8-Yard Bins)
Our 8-yard bins (7' x 14' x 2') are NOT for household or construction waste. They are strictly reserved for heavy specialty materials:
8 Yard Soil: $300
8 Yard Concrete/Asphalt: $350
βοΈ The $130/Tonne Math: When to Switch?
How do you decide which rate is better? Use this simple calculation.
The Price Gap:
For a 10-yard bin, the difference between Regular ($325) and All-In ($395) is $70.
Since the overage fee is $130/tonne, the "break-even" point is roughly 0.5 tonnes over the limit.
π IF you think your waste will weigh more than 1.5 tonnes total, THEN the All-In Rate is the cheaper option.
Real-World Examples:
Scenario A: Moving Out. You are tossing old furniture, plastic toys, and clothes. These are high-volume but low-weight. CHOOSE: Regular Rate.
Scenario B: Kitchen Reno. You are tossing ceramic tiles, drywall, and wooden cabinets. This gets heavy fast. CHOOSE: All-In Rate.
Scenario C: Roofing. Shingles are incredibly heavy. A standard roof can easily weigh 3-5 tonnes. CHOOSE: All-In Rate (or Specialty Shingle Pricing).

ποΈ Match the Rate to the Project
Home Renovations (Kitchens & Baths)
Renovation debris is dense. Drywall, flooring, and lumber add up quickly.
Recommendation: Use a 14-yard bin ($460 All-In).
Why: It gives you the length (14') for long boards and the weight security of the All-In rate.
Decluttering (Basements & Garages)
General household "junk" is usually lighter than construction material.
Recommendation: Use a 20-yard bin ($350 Regular).
Why: You need the 5' height to fit bulky items like sofas, but you likely won't exceed 1 tonne of weight unless you have heavy appliances.
Landscaping & Yard Cleanup
If you are clearing brush and branches, weight is rarely an issue.
Recommendation: Use the Specialty 14/20 Yard Brush rate ($200 + $110/tonne).
Why: Brush is very light. You will likely stay well under 1.5 tonnes, saving you money compared to a standard All-In rate.
